Mr. Huntley owns and manages the Huntley Law Firm. His legal practice focuses on Estate and Gift Taxation, Wills, Trusts, and Estate Litigation. He is also experienced with small business creation, operation, and dissolution.

The Accounting Years

Christopher F. Huntley

Mr. Huntley graduated from the University of Idaho in 1989 having focused on Accounting and English. In 1988 he took a break from college to work in a small accounting firm in Oregon preparing income tax returns for individuals. In 1989 he worked with Treuhand Vereinigung in Hamburg, Germany, an affiliate of Coopers and Lybrand, performing audit work at medium and large companies. While in law school he took and passed the Certified Public Accountant exam; he does not maintain a permit to practice as a CPA.

Education, Work and Life

Mr. Huntley grew up in Pocatello and Boise. He graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in English. He graduated, cum laude, in 1994 with a Juris Doctorate from the American University, Washington College of Law. He was an associate Jane Edmisten and Associates in Washington DC until 1999. Their practice focused on estate planning, wills, trusts, and sophisticated, business oriented, divorce litigation. In 1999 he moved with his wife, also an attorney, to Boise and became a partner in the law firm Huntley Park, LLP. In 2008 he founded the Huntley Law Firm. Mr. Huntley is a member of the board of directors and is the treasurer for Opera Idaho. Mr. Huntley is the manager and a principal in the Huntley Law Firm. He has extensive experience with managing and operating law firms ethically, efficiently and at the highest professional levels. His practice is focused on supervising other attorneys, probate, probate litigation, complex estate planning, wills, trusts, taxation, business formation, and business dissolution. Prior to becoming an attorney he was an accountant, having obtained a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (although not licensed to practice as one). Mr. Huntley has lectured often on wills, trusts, probate, domestic partnerships and same-sex estate planning.
